| The Library at Karl Road Baptist Church tries to provide materials for study and development of the church body. It contains a wide and varied assortment of books and video tapes. It is open Wednesday evenings 6:30 - 7:00 PM, and on Sundays from 10:00 - 10:30 AM, and again from noon to 12:30 PM.
Our Mission
The purpose of the Library at Karl Road Baptist Church is to provide information, life enrichment and resource materials as a ministry to members of the congregation, its auxiliaries and its community to support them in their Christian faith. The library collection will:
- Serve all who seek to grow in their Christian faith.
- Encourage Christian responses to life situations and experience through faith which is growing in understanding.
- Provide for the support of the church's programs.
Where we've been....
- Re-decoration of room including paint, curtains, carpet.
- De-accessioning/weeding of library materials.
- Purchase and usage of MLS/Concourse Software with Bar Code Reader.
- Retrospective conversion of 2000 catalog records from cards to computer.
Where we're going...
- Completion of retrospective conversion, approx. 800 records to go.
- Increasing collection development in the subject areas of Youth, Children, Theological/Apologetics and Reference.
- Facilitation of children's story times, adult book discussion groups and outreach to surrounding community through these programs.
